Many believers including myself tend to be discouraged in the season they’re in or wonder where God is in their current season. While it is often normal to be discourage about the season we’re in, it is also important to cling to God’s promises for us in every season.
Seasons of Uncertainty and Waiting
During seasons of uncertainty and waiting, it is important to remember that God directs our steps and leads us in His path each day. He is the One who knows every detail of our lives and invites us to trust in Him instead of trying to know the outcome. He also renews our strength to seek Him during the waiting seasons because He has a purpose for our lives.
Key verses to focus on:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” – Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV).
“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him” – Lamentations 3:25 (NKJV).
“For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” – Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV).
“What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this” – John 13:7 (NKJV).
Seasons of Loneliness
During seasons of loneliness, it is important to remember that God is always with us in our loneliest moments. He invites us into His presence with comfort when our strength fails daily. He reminds us that nothing can ever separate us from His love because He cares for us. When we are in the midst of our loneliness, it gives us invitation to draw closer to Him.

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” – Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV).
“Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory” – Psalm 73:23-24 (NKJV).

Seasons of Joy and Contentment
During seasons of joy and contentment, it is important to remember that we have joy in Christ and that He gives us peace that transcends all understanding. As believers, we must be content in every season because He is the One who provides all of our needs. Finding joy in the Lord will renew our strength to continue moving forward in this season.

“Now may the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” – Romans 15:13 (NKJV).
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials” – James 1:2 (NKJV).
“Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content” – Philippians 4:11 (NKJV).
“Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content” – 1 Timothy 6:6-8 (NKJV).
Seasons of Change
During seasons of change, it is important to remember that although our circumstances might change, God never changes. He is the One who goes before us as we encounter new beginnings in our lives that will lead us in the purpose He has for us. Many individuals don’t adapt well towards change because they see their circumstances shifting in their lives however, we are reminded that God remains the same and steady in the midst of those changes in life.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV).
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” – Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV).
“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” – Isaiah 43:19 (NKJV).
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” – James 1:17 (NKJV).
In every season of life, we as believers in Christ must remember the promises God has spoken over our lives and cling to Him during these seasons. We know that every season has a purpose in our lives because He is with us through every step of the way. He uses every season to draw us closer to Him and strengthen our hope in Him.
